What it does
- A fold effect between start and end angles you choose, plus an optional reveal when the lid opens.
- A lightweight mode that needs no permission, and a full mode with progressive blur and perspective.
- Intensity, darkness and direction settings, a live angle readout in the menu bar, and global shortcuts as an escape hatch.
Engineering highlights
- Reads the lid-angle sensor through public IOKit HID reports at 0.01° resolution; the sensor updates at 10 Hz, so motion is interpolated to 60 fps.
- The full renderer captures the screen once with ScreenCaptureKit and redraws it through Core Image on a Metal layer, at about 2 ms CPU per frame.
- A black-screen-on-wake bug was traced to three overlapping causes and fixed with a test that reproduces it.
- 48 tests.
